Our Master,Lady Aminah-May Allah be pleased with her As-Sayidah Aminah- RAA
Praise be to Allah, Praise that befits his Essence and is unattainable by other than Him, Allah’s blessings and Reassurance be upon our master Muhammed, whom Allah has given a high status unknown to all but Him-SWT-, and upon his family, companions and whoever treaded his path and followed his method, to the day of Judgment.
The messenger of Allah -SAAW- said that he asked permission from his Lord to visit (Zyiarat) the grave of his mother, and he was given the permission to visit her grave, then he asked to seek forgiveness for her but he was denied permission for that. When the believers heard about this Hadeeth they cheered up and expected good, but when the hypocrites (Munafiqeen) heard the same Hadeeth they had wrong thoughts and said: “the mother of the messenger is a disbeliever” –I seek Allah’s refuge from their wrong saying- Their evidence was that the messenger –SAAW- was not allowed to ask forgiveness for her.
The evidence of those who believe for taking the Hadeeth for good news was that the messenger –SAAW- was not prohibited from visiting her and standing at her grave, as Allah had forbade him from standing at the graves of the disbelievers, the hypocrites and the dissolute (Fasiqeen), as stated in Allah’s saying, “Wala Tosalli ala Ahd-in Minhum Mat-a Abda-n wa La Taqum ala Kabrihi. In-nahum Kafaru bi-Allah wa Rasulihi wa Matu wa Hum Fasiqoon”, which can be translated as: (Nor do you ever pray for any of them that dies, Nor stand at his grave, for they rejected Allah and His Messenger, and died in a state of perverse rebellion.) It is a fact that Sayidah Aminah bint Wahb was not a disbeliever, hypocrite nor was she in a state of perverse rebellion against the Creator when she died. Those who say she was fall under Allah’s saying “Bal Kazzabo bima Lam Youhito Bi-Elmihi”, which can be translated to (Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass.)
As for not allowing the messenger of Allah to ask forgiveness for her, it is evidence that she had no sins that necessitate forgiveness, as she was among the people of Fitrah, who were not sent a messenger or lived in a period of a prophet. Sins result in punishment, and they are not written except when people disbelieve their messengers and disobey the Divine orders conveyed to them by the messengers. Thus Sayidah Aminah never disbelieved in a messenger and never disobeyed a Divine order; on the contrary she bore within her body the light of prophet-hood that lit the way to Allah for the worlds. How then could she suffer any punishment when she had no sins in need for forgiveness, and no messenger was sent to her in accordance with Allah’s –SWT- saying: “Wa ma Kunna Moa’dhibeen-a Hatta Naba’th-a Rasul-an” that translates to (..Nor would we visit with Our Wrath until We had sent a messenger).
May Allah be pleased with the parents of the prophet, his progeny, loyalists and household, and may He be pleased with us by them-Amen.
There is no power or might except with Allah the most High, the most Glorified.
